Dawn set camp about five minles out side Yuirwood... the young elf had been traveling for many many a fortnight helping the needy along the way... and looking to find answers to her past. She doesn't remember much of the firt ten years of her life... except that she and her family had been separated from the rest of their people and that her parents had been killed... She raised her brother and sister until they could fend for themselves. Thens she had set off to see the world... and didn't like what she saw... NOw she is a rogue... living on the edge of society and conversing with the animals... she helps those in need... by stealing gold and riches from the wealthy and giving it to the poor...
Dawn got the fire burning just enough to cook the rabit she'd caught... now she sat on the ground, watching the flames dance, and gazing out towards the ruins fo the nearby city... Her weapons lay in a pile beside her bed roll which lay a couple feet behind her... A few feet away Wildfire, her pure white stallion and friend, seemed to sigh as he pawed at the ground before him... At first Dawn thought he was telling her that danger was near.. her hand reflexivly wet for the ivory statuette in her pocket, a magical item that could call forth a mighty white tiger... Sasha... another of Dawn's closest friends... After glancing about she sighed and relaxed, not seeing anything or anyone nearby... She shook her head at Wildfire and turned to her meat that was now finished cooking and took it from the flames... she began to eat leisurely... watchin the flames... and ruines of the city.....

Cy leaned back against the tree having just ducked back around from watching the girl. Her hair was like a beacon in the dark, as was her fire. The smoke rose in gray curls over the trees and spread its smell through the woods. The light had caught his eye several minutes before he reached her camp. HE shook his head and leaned just enough to see out from around the tree, watching her again and wondering wh yanyone would be out here in such plain sight. Was she looking to be found?

Wildfire pawed at teh ground again making Dawn look up from her meal. "Oh you silly horse.... stop that...' she said and tossed him a treat to make him keep quite.... he loved his treats... she glanced around again and just to be sure she grabed her sword belt and straped it on before going back to her food

Cy rolled his eyes, lifting one arm up and hooking his hand over a low hanging tree branch. He silently pulled himself up into the boughs of the tree, watching her from his shadowy perch. The cowl of his cloak rested low over his brow, so low you could only really see his lips and chin. The black folds settled around him to keep ihm perfectly camouflaged. He had nothing better to do tonight, and this girl might prove to be interesting...or useful.

Dawn soon finished eating and wapped upthe rest of the meat and put it in her pack for later... she sighed and stood theere looking about feeling as though she was being watched her hands absently went for the hilts of her swords

Cy rolled his eyes again. She was starting to bore him. Most people knew better than to bore him...it wasn't very fun for them. He got angry pretty quickly. The stupid woman just kept fiddling with her sword, which made no sense to him. His bow was strapped to his back, the quiver resting on his hip, an easy draw. His staff was resting a few trees away, an easy leap down and a few quick paces would have him to it if need be. He wondered what it is she was doing here alone. This place could be dangerous in the dead of night.
And the horse was starting to annoy him.

"Shh." Dawn whispered to her steed... she drew her swords and looked all about... the hairs on the back of her neck standing up now... now she was regretting building the fire...

Cypress laughed softly inside his own mind. It was fun scaring the unsuspecting people out here. He softly caressed his quiver, smiling to himself. This girl was funny. Thinking it was safe to light a fire on a pitch black night. There were bad men who could track her by the smoke if not the light. Not to mention animals. Yes..she was lucky he got here first...although she might not think so.

Dawn stepped over to the fire and slilent as a cat and kicked some dirt over the embers to he;p them die down... her gaze darting all about,, she could feel eyes on her... but she couldn't see anyone about... she looked up to the trees, maybe they were in the branches.... she wasn't scared.. of people or animals... she just wanted to know who was watching her

Cy smiled a tight smile, being sure to keep his lps closed so as not to show his white teeth. He stood slowly and jumped silently down to the ground, circling around to his staff. All the while he watched her. He knew she must have seen the flickering shadow that was him. He used just the slightest bit of his innate elven abilities, not that he had much being half human, to shrink the staff to fit in a sword sheathe at his other hip.

Dawn had indeed caught the fliskering shadow... now she was in full alert... she quickly went over and grabbed her quiver and straped it to her back... and slung her bow over her shoulder as well... then she crouched low... waiting... her swords in hand...

Cypress couldn't help himself. He laughed, though it was a very soft one, out loud. The sound was close to that of his sister's namesake, Whisper, a gentle breeze of a laugh that you weren't sure was there or not. He quickly sidestepped to a different area, being sure to keep away from where he arrows would be shot, or her swords slashed.

Wildfire neighed and pawed at the ground again... Dawn moved to the side a bit... she felt more than saw or hear the laugh and the movement... someone was there... she stood a bit staraighter now... "I know you're there.. Now come out and face me.. only cowards hide in the bushes." she said out loud.. her voice strong and confident

Cy shook his head and in the whispering voice answered, "I am not hiding, woman, simply delighting on your jumpyness." He chuckled again and moved slowly out from behind the tree. His cowl stayed down over his face, but his lips could still be seen smiling beneath it.

Dawn eyed the man carefully, but she didn't lower her sword tips... "who are you and what are you about sneaking around my camp?" she demanded
