Jarlaxle, hat pulled low over his brow and jewelry chiming too happily in this dark underground world, made his way past several of his men and into a section of his 'right now' set up. For the moment, this is were Bregan D'aerthe was stationed. His, or should he say, Kimmuriel's, little mercenary band was in a bad way with Jarlaxle right now. No matter how many times Kimmuriel told Jarlaxle that he was done working on the surface, Jarlaxle always managed to get him up there. Jarlaxle smiled broadly, adjusting the patch across from his left eye to his right as he stopped his noisy progress in front of the solid door, peering through with a little magick to inspect the catch within. Calihye paced with a quick step, jerky and he knew she was dying to kill him. But he hadn't brought her, this was Kimmuriel's death warrent pacing in front of him, not his own, although it was unlikely he would let his lieutenant die. Kimmuriel could handle himself. Jarlaxle smiled, straightened his hat, and walked in.

Calihye haulted her pacing and stood facing the door, an annoyed and slightly angered look on her face.. her hands in fists and her muscles tensed.. ready for a fight.. ready to kill the one who had locked her in here! Her eyes narrowed seeing the dark elf... she wanted to leap at him and throttle his neck! But she held herself in check.. for now.

Jarlaxle swept his hat off his bald head as he dipped into a low bow. "Forgive the intrusion lady Calihye, but I was wondering how you were holding up." He placed the hat back on his head and made his way a bit closer to her. "Is there anything you desire? Surely the friendship we had forged is still such that I can get you water or the like?"

Calihye glared at him, keeping up her guard... dark elves were so unpredictable sometimes.. "Save the formalities, and just tell me why I am being held here." she said in a calm and collected voice... except for the tinge of annoyance.

Jarlaxle smiled. "Come come lady Calihye, surely you didn't expect more than this." Jarlaxle spun a slow circle, coming to rest facing her again. Jarlaxle shrugged. "What you did to Artemis was very wrong indeed, both emotional and physical..." He smirked, chuckling. "Although I don't think Artemis cares so much about the physical aspect." He approached her. "You betrayed not just him but myself as well."
Jarlaxle swept his gaze briefly around the room, a small gesture of caution. His hands played lightly against his side where he had a small dagger strapped today, and at the same moment, checking his bracers. Jarlaxle did this routinely after the incidents with the liches. A liche will make you twitchy.
"Kimmuriel doesn't like it when his friends...and Artemis...are in danger."

Calihye narrowed her eyes at the drow... "Did you ever stop to think that maybe what he asked me to do was wrong as well?" She asked a bit harshly. "You have no right to keep me here!"

Jarlaxle snorted. "Wrong?" He tilted his head and examined her closely. "Wrong for a man in love to ask the woman who pledges she loves him as well to follow him?" Jarlaxle smiled softly. "Dear friend, I think you are a little confused about love and it's wrongness." He shrugged and leaned casually against the wall, a picture of ease. "He wanted nothing but to be cared for, and you couldn't let go of an accidental wrong."
Jarlaxle sighed. Although you must admit Jarlaxle, you yourself did cause the shift within him...
Jarlaxle sighed softly.

Calihye glared at him.. she couldn't deny his words.. not our right anyway... She did love Artemis... still did, but oh how he grated on her nerves! She couldn't stand the man!
"You and Artemis were leaving Vaasa. So why are you here? Dealing with me? Why aren't you back on the road with your dear Artemis?" she asked sarcastically.

Jarlaxle fixed his gaze to hers. "I was here checking on my men." He shrugged and smiled, giving a soft little chuckle. "Didn't you hear, Lady, that Artemis is dead?"

Those words stung her, caught her by surprise... she took a step back... shaking her head a bit.. No... you're lying... nothing could kill him. she insisted

Jarlaxle laughed, pushing away from the wall. "Why yes, Lady, Artemis the First is dead." He gave a slight bow. Rising up, Jarlaxle took a little hopped step and placed his fingertips to his lips. "Let's see..." He rose one thin, white eyebrow and smiled. "Would you like to know what he said last I saw him?"

Calihye farced herself to get a grip on her emotions... she steeled her gaze... Does it matter if i want to know or not? Jarlaxle will most likely tell either way... she said as casually as she could

HE laughed and bowed again slightly. "You are very right Calihye." Jarlaxle smiled and tapped his lip. "I do believe, if I am not mistaken, he last told me..." He thought hard for a moment before quoting Artemis. "Artemis Entreri is dead. He died in the Protector's House in Memnon, chasing ghosts."
Jarlaxle thought a moment. "Yes those were his words before he left me for gods know where."

Calihye thought on that a moment but showed no emotions on her face... she was determined not to show this drow how she really felt.. she didn't want anyone to know those things...

Jarlaxle smiled at her slyly. "So you see, Calihye, Artemis the First is indeed dead...." He chuckled softly. "As some would have it." He leaned forward a bit, fingers still resting about his chin and lips. "I was hoping to discuss some course of action with you, Lady, but as it were..." He shrugged and turned, walking back towards the door. "You seem as though you are unwilling to talk..."
