Jarlaxle rose an eyebrow and indicated the door. "Calihye, this is an appropriate place for me to take you to discuss our business." He took her by the arm and pulled at her slightly, trying to get her arms to uncross and for her to go into the room.
"I assure you that you won't regret stepping through this door." He gave her a mischievious smile.

She resisted his pulling though she so wanted to give in... "Jarlaxle.. I really do not think... I don't want... I only..." She stumbled over her words trying to think of a reason NOt to go into that room. She gazed at him... and his smile nearly buckled her knees... By the gods! Get a grip on yourself! He's just a stupid over baring drow! There is no sense in... oh but he's so handsome... and that smile of his... NO! STOP IT! but in spite of her mental berating she felt herself take one small step towards the door to his chambers....

Jarlaxle smiled and tilted his head towards her. "Ah Lady you are relenting!" He gave her another little shove towards the door, keeping the pressure on her arm, fingers locked tightly around her wrist.
"Come now Calihye, you can't resist forever and I won't discuss this matter out here in the middle of the hall where anyone walking by could ease-drop." He gave her another pull, leaning back with it to try an dmake her follow him into the room. His hat slipped slightly down over his eyes and he smiled that mischievious smile again.
"Don't make me pick you up and carry you over the threshold."

Calihye widened her eyes at his last words.. "You would not!" she exclaimed defiantly and pulled away again, seeming to come to her senses for the moment. "Pray tell why we can not discuss this in the study where you conduct all you other dealings?" she protested, a hint of panic at the edge of her voice though she tried hard to hide it. She never liked showing her feelings and she mentaly berated herself for not having more control of them! But the offer was such a temptation to her... NO! Stop it! He most likely does not even mean it in that way! Just stop it Calihye!

Jarlaxle leaned back on his heels momentarily, tilting his head to the side. “I am trying to take to a place where we can discuss these things privately, but you don’t seem to want me to.” He pulled her arm gently for a moment, a strange look coming over his face.
“I would not…?” he mumbled softly to himself. Jarlaxle smiled and leaned down slightly, wrapping his arms around her legs and lifting her right off her feet, holding her as a man would hold his bride.

Calihye stiffened and her eyes grew ever wider as he held her that way. "What are you doing?! Put me down this instant! You have no right to be doing this." she said frantically as he tried to wiggle free of his grasp and put her feet back on the floor. "Put me down!"

Jarlaxle shook his head and laughed merrily as he carried her the few steps to the door. He tightened his arms around her, muscles straining slightly with the effort to hold her. When he got right to the door, he lifted a foot, brought it back, and kicked the door mightily.
The door burst open and Jarlaxle carried her into the first room.

CAlihye glared at him with anger in her blazing blue eyes. But inside she was jumping with excitment at teh feel of his arms about her. Get a grip! She stiffened her muscles as they entered the room and she again attepmted to twist free of his grasp

He smiled darkly before setting her on her feet. Jarlaxle slipped past her and into the library, taking a seat behind the wooden desk. He leaned back in his chair and propped both of his feet up on the desk, watching her as she made her way into the library. While he knew that she wasn't very fond of reading, he did know that she appreciated the art of literature.
gods but she gives me the strangest glances...if only i... The stream of thought stopped suddenly when Jarlaxle remembered his eye patch, which was resting in one of his many pockets. He dug it out, watching her all the while and hoping she didn't look his way too quickly. As soon as the patch was in his hand, he placed it securely over his left eye. and now I can hear what she's thinking behind those strange looks.

(NO FAIR! lol)
Calihye strode into the room and glanced around. Her eyes slowly moving over the many books. "How did you come to posses so many?" she asked slowly bringing her gaze back to him. She took note that he now wore his eye patch. Oh no... i do hope that thing doesn't allow him into my mind. she thought emphatically.

(ooc: he he you knew it was coming...the book even mentions the eye patch and so does my app)
Jarlaxle smiled and swept his hand forward, indicating the chair in front of his desk. "Please sit Calihye." He smiled broadly and looked around fondly at his books. Reaching up, he pulled one randomly from the shelf and stroked the spine lovingly. "I collected the books over many, many years of adventures and campaigns."

((OOC: I know... still... lol))
CAlihye hesitated a bit before sitting down in the chair... she kept her posture straight and alert. Still not trusting him in the least. How she wished she had her weapons in hand! She watched him carefully as he hand his hands over the book. Then took a deep breath and broke the silence. "Might we get on with this?" she asked in a somewhat hauty tone... Before i loose all self control and throw myself at you!

Jarlaxle nodded and leaned back, putting the book back on the shelf where it belonged. He turned his attention back to her, removing his hat and setting it next to him on the desk. "Alright then to business." He thought for a moment about how to get what it was he was asking from her.
"You know well of the replica of Castle Perilous that we battled through, Artemis and I as well as the others?" He didn't wait for an answer because even though sh ewasn't right in the castle with them, she had been aware and fighting from the sidelines. "And you of course remember the gargoyles that attacked Paslichuk while you so bravely were stationed there." He rolled his eyes slightly, hoping she didn't hear the sarcasm too harshly.
"The thing I am asking is kind of about that..."

Calihye listened to him carefully... Her eyes narrowed. What about it Jarlaxle. she asked calmly, as in control of herself and her reactions to him in general as she could be.
((OOC:sorry i couldn't think much to say.. i haven't gotten to reading those books just yet... but i'm starting on them so i still don't know about what he's talking about here ^_^))

Jarlaxle sighed and scratched the back of his head. "Well..." He moved forward and leaned his forearm against the table. "I am trying to get as many of the Zhengian artifacts as I can, and I need a little help."
He bit the corner of his lip and absently played with the feather in his hat. "I know you don't want to be involved in that particular legacy again, but I need more than one person helping me," he cleared his throat and smiled. "And 'King' Artemis is off the maps, so to say, at this moment. I have our little rhyming friend helping but as I said, it would be great to have another set of hands to help."
(OOC: where are you in the books?)
