[ooc: since you don't seem to be coming back anytime soon...i'm going in a new direction with this, send me a message when you're ready to continue with Calihye.]
Before Jarlaxle could go farther, the was a loud booming knock on the door. Jarlaxle rose both eyebrows questioningly and held his hand up for Calihye to hold on. He rose form his seat and went out to the door, opening it. Standing with hands on his hips and a dwarf Jarlaxle had never seen before was Athrogate. Jarlaxle beamed and stepped out of the way.
Athrogate shuffled into room, dragging Thayne behind him. Thayne seemed not to like being surrounded by so many Drow. Athrogate looked up at Jarlaxle, huffing. "I got what ye was lookin fer, elf."

Thayne was looking around nervously, his hand twitching to his axe every now and then. He glanced at the one called Jarlaxle, 'How can he tell them apart.?' HE thought to himself. 'I see only subtle differences between the lot o' em.' He sighed a little and attempted to calm down, when the door opened and Athrogate dragged him thorough the door. Thayne looked around nervously once more, trying to figure out how this many drow could be with a rogue, and not actually turn him in to the others. "so," He decided to speak, "Yer the mighty drow, Jarlaxle, Eh? Well, I be Thayne NIghtstriker." HE declared himself as he puffed out his chest a little.

Jarlaxle gave a low sweeping bow, straightened up and smiled down at Thayne. "Welcome, mighty Thayne." He smiled broadly down at Thayne for a moment before turning a serious look on Athrogate. "Dear Athrogate, I think you are mistaken. I never asked for you to bring me another dwarf." He tapped his chin. "I suppose he isn't a bad thing for you to bring to me but--"
Athrogate snorted and cut him off. "I 'ave the other that ye was seekin." He prodded Thayne in the side, smiling. "An' the ones holdin it got themselves one hell of a beatin'."

Thayne rose an eyebrow at Jarlaxle. 'OK, this is an odd' one.' He thought to himself. He stood back and watched the two of them talk. He looked at Athrogate when he prodded him. Thayne rolled his eyes, 'Quite the boaster 'e is.' He smiled a little thinking of future adventures and new lands to explore. "I 'ear you could use some helpin hands 'round hear" HE spoke to Jarlaxle.

Jarlaxle turned his attention back to Thayne. "It couldn't hurt at all." He ushered them into his foyer, smiling. "If you'll give us just one moment, Thayne, Athrogate and myself have matters of business to discuss." He smiled reassuringly and walked away from them both, expecting Athrogate to follow, and he did.

Thayne nodded, and looked around the foyer. He sighed and being underground again, having almost forgotten what it felt like. He smiled, until he saw the rest of the drow, he then became cautious. He found himself a boulder just the right size and sat down upon it, and pulled his axe out. He started examining the blade, and picking at some dried blood on the blade. He smiled at the blade, remembering all the good fights he'd been through. He sighed as he thought of his latest battle, a great big hairy best that seemed to pop out of the snow itself. He'd never come across such a beast, and thought that it might very well have been his toughest fight yet. He glanced up when he heard a soft sound coming his way.

Jarlaxle stayed bent with Athrogate, talking softly for several minutes. They spoke about the item in question, about the trail there, and about Thayne. When they were done, Jarlaxle straighten and walked back over to Thayne, smiling. Athrogate came behind him, smiling as well. Jarlaxle knelt in front of Thayne and his rock, and tilted his his head. examining him briefly. Athrogate leaned against Thayne's arm.
"I'm sure ye might be wonderin' about this scene." He indicated Jarlaxle with his other hand, then went to stroking his beard." "Mighten be that the elf has an offer or something..." HE bwahaha'd and Jarlaxle rolled his eyes.

Calihye watched it all from where Jarlaxe had left her... now she stood slowly and moved closer to hear better... she looked to Jaralaxe... then to teh dwarves and back again... wondering what was going on... but she said not a word... she stood alert, waiting for them to continue or to tell her what was going on.

Thayne looked to the woman that appeared suddenly, and gave Jarlaxle a strange look. "So, what kinda job mighten we be talkin about?" Thayne asked as he glanced to the woman. He stroked his ax blade once more to make sure that it was clean. He shifted his weight and stroked his beard in thought as he watched the drow for any signs of deception.

Jarlaxle smiled wickedly. He looked up to take in all of them. "This job takes in all of you, because you all have things that can aid in this case." He indicated Calihye. "You can track and pursue because of your elven heritage." He turned to Athrogate. "You already know your skill." Athrogate laughed. "Yea...bashin' and smashin' and drawin' out the foe." Jarlaxle nodded and turned his eyes to Thayne. For a brief moment the red of seeing in infrared was gone and his eyes were a soft hazel green. "You seem calm and reasonable for a dwarf. I've never met one to be around so many drow for so long without trying to hurt anyone." He folded his arms over his chest, taking them all in. "Would you like to hunt?"

Thayne hawked and spat on the floor, "Well, what're we huntin'?"asked Thayne as he pulled his axe from his back and once again made sure his blade was clean. His eyes glimmered at the prospect of a good hunt. He smiled softly as he replaced his axe on his back. 'Can't wait ta get ou' of here and see the world again.' Thayne thought to himself as he watched the assembled people.

Jarlaxle smiled and opened his mouth to respond when Athrogate held a hand up. "Let me 'andle this coal skin, dwarf ta dwarf." He adjusted his belt and approached Thayne. He took him by the arm and led him off towards the other side of the room. Jarlaxle shook his head and watched as they walked away.
Athrogate hadn't wanted the other one, the girl, to over hear anything, which is why he had dragged Thayne over here. He leaned close. "The elf is lookin' to gather some things o' magic, relics o' some king." He looked around to see Jarlaxle watching them. "I don't trust that elf but he pays good an' lots o' adventure for a few little things."

Thayne smiled at the prospect of adventure and seeing new lands, "So, what kinda things o' magic? And of what king?" Thayne asked, his curiosity engaged. Thayne looked over Athrogate's shoulder to Jarlaxle's smile and the woman who stood there staring.

Calihye listened intently to it all... she watched the two dwarves go off to the other side of the room to talk. She looked back to Jarlaxle, her brow cocked and her arms over her chest. She wouldn't say anything yet. Besides. she didn't need to. She had no weapons and she didn't have a way out of this place. So why bother saying she didn't want to do this. Besides.... she liked making Jarlaxle agitated with her... he was adorable when he was frustrated.

Jarlaxle smiled as he watched Athrogate and Thayne talk his little proposition out. He looked over to Calihye and turned to her, walking slowly towards her. He smiled that charming smile of his and looked at her through lowered eyelashes. "What will you have Calihye? Yes or no?"
Athrogate snorted. "He be wantin' little things, they don't mean nothin' t' me. Books, statues, rocks even, ya see?" He shook his head and tugged his beard. "Zhengyi." He shuddered a bit.
